How to Save Twitter Videos to Camera Roll
Published March 17, 2026
You found a video on Twitter you want to keep. Problem: there's no "Save to Camera Roll" button anywhere. Here's how to get that video on your phone.
On iPhone (iOS)
Step 1: Copy the Tweet Link
Open the Twitter app (or X app), tap the share icon on the tweet, and tap "Copy Link."
Step 2: Download the Video
- Open Safari and go to getxtwittervideo.com.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Tap the HD or SD download button.
Step 3: Save to Camera Roll
On iOS 16 and later, the file downloads to your Files app first. To move it to your camera roll:
- Open the Files app.
- Navigate to the Downloads folder.
- Tap the video file, then tap the share icon.
- Tap "Save Video."
On iOS 15 and earlier, the video may save directly to your camera roll from Safari.
On Android
Step 1: Copy the Tweet Link
In the Twitter app, tap the share icon on the tweet → "Copy Link."
Step 2: Download
- Open Chrome (or your preferred browser) and go to getxtwittervideo.com.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Choose your quality and tap the download button.
Step 3: Find the Video
On most Android devices, downloaded videos go straight to your Gallery/Photos app. If you don't see it, check your Downloads folder in the Files app. The video file will be an MP4 that plays in any video app.
On Desktop (PC or Mac)
The process is even simpler on desktop:
- Right-click the tweet → "Copy link to Tweet."
- Open getxtwittervideo.com in a new tab and paste.
- Click Download → choose quality → the MP4 file saves to your Downloads folder.
From there, you can AirDrop it to your phone, upload to Google Photos, or do whatever you like with the file.
Troubleshooting
The video won't download on iPhone
Make sure you're using Safari, not an in-app browser. Long-press the download button and choose "Download Linked File" if a regular tap doesn't work.
I only see audio, no video
If the tweet contains only audio (like a Twitter Space), you'll get an MP3 file instead. For dedicated audio extraction, try our Twitter to MP3 converter. For video tweets, the tool always provides MP4 downloads.
The quality is low
Always choose the HD option when available. SD versions are smaller files but lower resolution. The HD version matches the original upload quality.
